Achievement Week
MOMBASA, KENYA
Achievement Week, held each November, is a hallmark observance of the Kappa Xi Chapter, a dedicated time to honor the outstanding accomplishments of individuals who exemplify the highest ideals of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Each year, Kappa Xi celebrates brothers and community leaders who embody excellence in leadership, scholarship, service, and uplift. Through civic engagement, fellowship events, worship services, and our signature Awards Ceremony, Achievement Week showcases the impact of Omega men in Las Vegas and honors those who promote the well-being of our community, and sponsors an Essay Contest for high school students, encouraging youth to articulate ideas of purpose, excellence, and responsibility. More than a celebration, Achievement Week renews our commitment to excellence. It reminds us that the accurate measure of Omega is seen in the lives we uplift and the legacy we build together. The week reminds all brothers to “press onward and upward” in pursuit of high achievement.
Scholarship
Las Vegas, NV
The Kappa Xi Scholarship Program promotes academic excellence among undergraduates and supports deserving students in the Las Vegas community through financial awards and mentoring. The chapter contributes annually to the Charles R. Drew Scholarship Fund and supports local initiatives that advance higher education, particularly for African American students pursuing leadership and service careers.
Talent Hunt Program
Las Vegas, NV
Through its Talent Hunt, Kappa Xi Chapter showcases and supports the creative gifts of young people in Southern Nevada. Students compete in music, dance, oratory, and visual arts, with winners often advancing to the district level. The program not only celebrates artistic excellence but also provides opportunities for scholarships, mentorship, and exposure to the performing arts.
Memorial Service
Las Vegas, NV
Each March 12, the Kappa Xi Chapter holds its solemn Memorial Service to honor Brothers who have entered the Omega Chapter. This service blends prayer, reflection, and gratitude, reminding us of their example of manhood, scholarship, perseverance, and uplift. The ceremony strengthens fraternity bonds and reminds each brother of the eternal light of Omega.
Reclamation & Retention
Las Vegas, NV
The Kappa Xi Reclamation and Retention Committee works year-round to reconnect inactive Brothers and sustain active membership engagement. The chapter hosts fellowship gatherings, service projects, and mentorship opportunities that rekindle the spirit of brotherhood. By extending “Friendship is Essential to the Soul,” the chapter ensures that no brother is left behind.
College Endowment Fund
Las Vegas, NV
In alignment with the international mandate, Kappa Xi Chapter contributes annually to the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. College Endowment Fund, which donates at least $50,000 to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The chapter’s contributions affirm its belief that higher education remains one of the most powerful tools for empowerment and social progress.
Health Initiatives
Las Vegas, NV
The Kappa Xi Health Committee actively promotes health awareness and wellness in partnership with local VA hospitals, community clinics, and civic groups. Programs include blood drives, mental-health education, fitness challenges, and men’s health screenings. Through its outreach, the chapter promotes whole-person wellness, encompassing physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects.
Social Action
Las Vegas, NV
The Social Action Committee of Kappa Xi Chapter is dedicated to community uplift through voter registration, education, and mobilization efforts. The chapter collaborates with community partners to host civic-engagement forums, mentorship programs for youth, and service projects that address local needs—from feeding families to mentoring young men.
Stem Initiative
Las Vegas, NV
Recognizing the importance of preparing the next generation, the Kappa Xi Chapter sponsors and participates in STEM-focused programs for youth, introducing students to careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The chapter partners with local schools and organizations to foster curiosity, innovation, and leadership in emerging fields.
Fatherhood & Mentoring

The Fatherhood and Mentoring Initiative is a cornerstone of Kappa Xi’s community work. Members serve as role models, mentors, and advocates for positive male engagement—especially with at-risk youth and young fathers. Through workshops, mentorship circles, and collaborative events, the chapter promotes responsible fatherhood and strong family values.
Voter Registration, Education & Mobilization Empowering Voices, Strengthening Our Community

Kappa Xi’s Voter Registration, Education, and Mobilization initiative is rooted in Omega’s historic commitment to civic engagement, social justice, and community empowerment. Our chapter works tirelessly to help citizens understand their voting rights, register to vote, and stay informed about issues that impact their families, neighborhoods, and future. Through outreach events, educational forums, partnerships, and strategic mobilization efforts, we equip the community with the tools and knowledge needed to participate confidently in the democratic process. Kappa Xi remains committed to elevating the political voice of our community—ensuring that every eligible voter is informed, empowered, and encouraged to participate in shaping a stronger and more equitable future.
Kappa Xi & the NAACP Advancing Civil Rights, Equity, and Community Empowerment
