Q: When was the Kappa Xi Chapter established in Las Vegas?


The Kappa Xi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was organized in November 1975 and officially chartered in February 1976. We were the first formal presence of Omega Psi Phi in the State of Nevada and have been serving the Las Vegas community for nearly 50 years.

Q: What are the "Four Cardinal Principles" mentioned throughout your programs?


The foundation of everything we do—from our youth mentorship to our community service—is built upon our Four Cardinal Principles: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift.

Q: Does Kappa Xi offer scholarships to local students?


Yes. Since 2012 alone, Kappa Xi has donated over a quarter of a million dollars in scholarships. We support local students through the Charles R. Drew Scholarship Fund, our Annual Youth Leadership Conference, and the Economic Youth Summit.

Q: What is the "Omega Gentlemen (GENTS)" Program?


The GENTS Program is our signature mentoring initiative for high school males. It focuses on character building, financial literacy, and college readiness, providing young men with positive role models and the tools needed for success after graduation.

Q: How is Kappa Xi involved with the Las Vegas MLK Parade?


Kappa Xi holds the distinguished honor of being the original organizers and initiators of the very first Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade in Las Vegas. We continue to participate annually to honor Dr. King’s legacy of service and civil rights.
